An initiative promoted by the Municipal Government refers patients for the procedure through a partnership with the Ministry of Health.
The Municipality of Trindade, through the Municipal Health Department, held a cataract surgery screening drive this Thursday (August 20th). The event took place at the João Pequi Administrative Center, in the East Region, and provided more than 400 consultations for ophthalmological evaluation.
The initiative aims to identify patients who need specialized care and subsequently refer them for cataract surgery. This measure expands the population’s access to health services and contributes to improving their quality of life.
Mayor Marden Júnior highlighted that the action continues the work carried out by the municipality to expand access to the procedure. “This cataract surgery screening campaign is very important. We have already performed hundreds of surgeries and now we are in this next phase, so that we can help everyone see better and better,” he pointed out.
The municipal health secretary, Sandra Rosa, highlighted the partnership with the Federal Government to expand ophthalmological care in Trindade.
“We partnered with the Ministry of Health. We offered more than 400 ophthalmological evaluation consultations, and subsequently, patients will be referred for surgery,” stated the secretary.
