The Municipality of Trindade, through the Municipal Department of Sports and Youth, informs that the use of the track at the “Paulo Henrique Vieira Gomides” Municipal Kart Track, located in Parque Lara Guimarães, is temporarily suspended.
This measure is being implemented as part of the urban redevelopment and reorganization process being carried out by the Municipality in the Parque Lara Guimarães area. The objective is to promote structural improvements, urban adjustments, and the planning of future interventions aimed at meeting the collective needs of the population.
The topic was analyzed by technical bodies of the municipal administration, including the Municipal Secretariat for the Environment (SEMMA), the Municipal Secretariat for Urban Planning, Housing and Land Regularization (SEPLANH), the Municipal Attorney General’s Office, and the Municipal Comptroller General’s Office. The matter was also debated during Public Hearing No. 02/2026, held with public participation and extensive discussion about the future of the area.
Among the aspects evaluated are the improvement of urban mobility, the reorganization of traffic flow, the expansion of public infrastructure, the adaptation of the space for large events, the preparation of the region for the Romaria do Divino Pai Eterno (Pilgrimage of the Divine Eternal Father), and the better collective use of the public area.
According to the Municipal Department of Sports and Youth, the suspension is temporary and administrative in nature, and is necessary to ensure operational safety, proper organization of public space, and the completion of technical, administrative, and operational studies related to the project.
The Municipal Administration emphasizes that it recognizes the historical importance of karting for the sport in Trindade and reaffirms its respect for those who practice the sport. Furthermore, it maintains its commitment to transparency, institutional dialogue, and the responsible management of all stages of the process.
New information regarding the progress of the assessments and future decisions for the area will be released through the official channels of the Municipality of Trindade.
